For people who sell online

How many sales, and how much, in each year?

Selling sites now report some sellers' sales to HMRC. Whether you need to do anything depends on what you sold and why, and GOV.UK explains how to tell.

We do the counting: sales and totals per site for each calendar year, and for each tax year, with GOV.UK's wording next to the figures and a link to HMRC's free checker.

Questions

Will it tell me if I owe tax?
No. It gives you your figures. GOV.UK's guidance and HMRC's free checker help you work out what applies.
Is this connected to HMRC?
No. It's an independent tool. It never contacts HMRC for you.
What happens to my files?
CSV files are read in your browser and never uploaded. Screenshots are read by our AI provider; we don't keep them or the results, and our AI provider deletes them within 30 days (see the privacy notice).
Is this tax advice?
No. It isn't tax, accounting or legal advice, and it doesn't say whether you're trading. Check the figures before you submit anything.
